Sustainability at Katathani

Katathani continually works to increase our positive impact on the environment, local communities
and Kata Noi’s natural ecosystem.

We are committed to:

  • Reducing greenhouse gas emissions
  • Protecting marine biodiversity
  • Conserving the unique coastal environment surrounding the resort
  • Strengthening long-term sustainability through smart management and responsible operations

As part of this long-term commitment, in 2024 we set a target to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions from energy, water, and waste by 50% before the end of 2030.

We are pleased to report that as of 31 October 2025, our carbon intensity has decreased significantly—from 12.63 kgCO₂e per guest night in 2023 to 8.56 kgCO₂e in 2025—representing an overall reduction of approximately 32%. This progress highlights the effectiveness of our continuous improvement efforts, including strengthened switching-off routines, higher recycling rates, resort-wide water-saving measures, and technical upgrades such as enhanced sub-meter tracking and improved water-pressure control.

We recognise that more work remains to be done. In 2026, we are implementing several new initiatives across the resort to help us achieve our 2030 target, including expanded solar installations, improved waste-sorting stations, and further staff sustainability training.

We encourage our valued guests, employees, suppliers, and community partners to support us by following the reminders throughout the resort about saving water and energy, reducing waste, and learning about local biodiversity through our ecosystem map and QR-code information points.

We are proud of the community activities carried out by our We Love Hometown Foundation, staff, and guests in support of local causes. In 2025, we achieved our annual goal of providing student scholarships and making donations to local schools, temples, hospitals, and the Kata Noi community—supporting beach cleaning, wastewater treatment, and local animal welfare initiatives.

In 2026, our key priority will be supporting a community environmental education project in collaboration with the Kata Noi community. This initiative aims to expand environmental awareness among students, local residents, partner hotels, and local organizations. We remain committed to actively participating in joint clean-up and conservation initiatives throughout the year as part of our ongoing contribution to community engagement and environmental stewardship.

Should you wish to contribute to our community projects, please contact us at +66 (0)76 318 350 or email executive@katathani.com.

We are also committed to safeguarding children and young people. We maintain a strict policy requiring staff to report any suspected instance of child exploitation, abuse, or trafficking to the authorities.
