Katathani Collection of Resorts is proud to support World Soil Day 2019 (#WorldSoilDay).
Together, the campaign “Stop soil erosion, Save our future” is envisaged to raise awareness on the importance of sustaining healthy ecosystems and human well-being by addressing the increasing challenges in soil management and, raise the profile of healthy soil by encouraging governments, organizations, communities and individuals around the world to engage in proactively improving soil health.
For years, we have faithfully followed the 3 R’s (Recycle, Reuse and Reduce) and along with this year’s World Soil Day Save Our Future, we continue to support and use, as part of our hotel policy, these 3 elements and incorporate the stopping of soil erosion with in doing so, we save our future.
At Katathani Phuket Beach Resort, we have over 20 m² of greenery for our guests to relax and enjoy.
We also increase by 10% yearly, the areas that we restore or replace and return to nature.
Along these efforts, we also recycle 70% of generated waste and 30% is incinerated. The hotel generates 2,000 kg. per day of garbage. In one year, that totals a staggering recycle and reuse of over 510,000 kg. of waste per year!
